2002

December 31st -- New Year, or Scottish Hogmanay, Hamish Burgess, Michael Riedel and Jason Wolford piped up and down Front Street, Lahaina, to ring in the Year 2003.

Saturday November 30th -- a big day for piping on Maui - the debut of World Champion Bagpiper JACK LEE, of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, in the Dining Hall at Seabury Hall (Makawao, Upcountry Maui). A stunning performance by Jack was interspersed with piping stories and information. This was Jack's first trip to Maui, to teach the local pipers a workshop, but will certainly not be his last. Maui Celtic had a full stand of Celtic artwork and T-shirts, and imported Celtic goodies.

Friday April 12th saw a legendary traditional Scottish band tour in the Hawaiian Islands.THE BATTLEFIELD BAND played at Andrews Outdoor Theatre at the University of Hawai'i in Manoa, Honolulu. They also captivated audiences in Hawai'i and Kauai.

Weekend of 6th/ 7th April saw the 21st annual 'Scottish Festival' in Kapiolani Park, Waikiki, Oahu. Maui Celtic was busy in the trade tent.......mahalo to all our customers. There was music from Green Island, harpist Rebecca Smith, Lisa Hancock Gomes, The Hawaiian Thistle Pipe Band, The Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii, Pipe Major Kevin Blandford, and Bishop David, dancing from The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Hawaii and Irish stepdancing from Jig This. Traditional Highland Games took place throughout the weekend.

2001

Weekend of March 31st/ April 1st saw the 20th annual 'Scottish Festival' held in Kapiolani Park, Waikiki, Oahu. There was music from Green Island, Colin Grant-Adams (of Scotland), The Hawaiian Thistle Pipe Band, The Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii, Pipe Major Kevin Blandford (of California), and Bishop David, and dancing from The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Hawaii and Irish stepdancing from Jig This. The Musketeer Fencers and The Society for Creative Anachronism gave displays of swordplay. Traditional Highland Games took place throughout the weekend.

2000

Weekend of April 1st/2nd saw the 19th annual 'Scottish Festival' in Kapiolani Park, Waikiki, Oahu. There was music from Kalani Brady and Jennifer Cleve, Green Island, The Irish Hearts, The Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii, Pipe Major Kevin Blandford (of California), and Bishop David, and dancing from The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Hawaii, Highland dancing by Katharin Shaw, and Irish stepdancing by Anatte Johanssen. The Musketeer Fencers and The Society for Creative Anachronism gave displays of swordplay, and there were Highland Games.

March 21st-25th saw the Irish Dance show SPIRIT OF THE DANCE play in the Castle Theatre at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The dance spectacular "The New Millennium" combined Irish Dance and other international styles, and played in Honolulu before coming to Maui.

1999

Weekend of April 3rd/4th saw the 18th annual 'Scottish Festival' in Kapiolani Park, Waikiki, Oahu. A highlight of the weekend was the concert at the University of Hawai'i in Manoa, featuring Champion Fiddler Elke Baker . During the weekend there was music from Donna Missigman on the Dulcimer, Elke Baker, Beyond The Pale, Kalani Brady/ Cheryl Bartlett/ Susan Bright Spangler, The Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii, and dancing from The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Hawaii, The Sciehallion Dancers (of Canada), and The Oahu Highland Dancers. The Musketeer Fencers and The Society for Creative Anachronism gave displays of swordplay and Highland Games took place throughout.

1998

Weekend of April 4th/ 5th saw the 17th annual 'Scottish Festival' in Waikiki, Oahu. There was Highland Games all weekend , and music from The Irish Hearts, Beyond The Pale, Blythe and Quinn Kelsey, the Reverend David Holmes-Smith, R.P.Blandford & Son Ltd. Pipes and Drums (of California), The Honolulu Pipes and Drums, The Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii. Dancing from The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Hawaii, with Highland Dance by Carol Brown. Displays of swordplay by the Musketeer Fencers and The Society for Creative Anachronism.
